We Value Justice and Respect 1

Weekly Worship from Mrs Duzniak.

Which is the most important rule or ‘commandment’ in our school?  Have a class discussion about this.

When Jesus was asked the same question, this is what he said.

‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ These two commands are pegs; everything in God’s Law hangs from them.

Matthew 22:34-40

Jesus said that the most important rule for life is to love God and then love each other as much as we love ourselves.

This film explains what it means to some people.  As you watch it think about what it means to you.

Here are some reflection questions to think about today:

  1.  Do you love God with all your passion and intelligence?  How would other people see this in you?
  2. Do you love others as well as you love yourself?  How would other people see this in you?

Prayer,

Heavenly Father, we thank you for your example of loving us.  Help us to show love to each other through our words and actions.  We want to be people who display your loving kindness to all, whether that be people who are like us or people who are very different to us.  Forgive us when we may have been unkind to others and show us how to put this right.  Amen
