Our ALIVE Value this week is ‘We are Forgiving’.

How easy do you find it to forgive other people?

Here are the words to, ‘The Lords Prayer’. What do we pray about forgiveness every time we pray this prayer together?

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy Name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those

who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory,

for ever and ever.

Amen.

We pray that we will be forgiven just as we forgive others.

If you had lived through the Holocaust, would you be able to forgive the people who had hurt you and your family so much?

Here is a film of someone who found a way to forgive – how did she do it?

As Christians, we believe that God can help us forgive. Take some time to reflect – who do you need to forgive? Do you need to ask God to help you do this?

Prayer

Dear Lord, help me to forgive those who have hurt me. I find it hard to forgive. Help me to feel your love in my heart so that I can have the courage to forgive. Thank you for the peace that forgiveness brings. Help me to trust you. Amen
