We Are Creative 1

Weekly Worship from Chaplain Josh
Do you see yourself as a creative person?
What do you think creativity is?
Creativity is about how we approach life. Whenever we come up with new ideas, find better ways to do things, or bring hope and joy to others, we're living out the creativity God has woven into each of us.
We are creative because it reflects something of who God is.
Right at the beginning of the Bible, in Genesis, we see God as the Creator. He made the heavens, the earth, the animals, and people — all full of colour, beauty, and purpose.
Whether we’re building, designing, solving, writing, encouraging — we reflect the creativity of God.
I love how Jesus used creativity to share some incredible teachings and messages.
Jesus used parables to share complex ideas - short, memorable stories that invite listeners to think, reflect, and see the world in a new way. Think about famous stories like the lost sheep, the Good Samaritan, the Prodigal (lost) Son. We can all remember something about what he was trying to say.
In pairs or small groups:
Think of a random object. In 1 minute, come up with a short modern-day parable using that object to teach a lesson — just like Jesus did.
We may not craft a masterpiece each day, yet with every word we speak, every problem we solve, every act of encouragement, and every dream we dare to imagine, we shape something quietly, beautifully, and uniquely good.
Let’s pray,
God of infinite creativity,
Thank You for making us in Your image—creative beings with minds and hearts that imagine, build, and dream.
Help us to see the gifts You have placed within each of us, and give us courage to use them boldly.
May our creativity be a way to serve others, share Your love, and bring light into the world around us.
When we feel unsure or stuck, remind us that You are the source of all inspiration and that with You, even small ideas can grow into something beautiful.
Guide us to be imaginative, compassionate, and brave as we live each day.
Amen.
