RSHE Consultation
SMRT invites parents' and carers' views on the School's draft revised RSHE policy.
Dear Parents and Carers,
Please find attached the draft revised policy for RSHE (Relationships, Sex and Health Education) at St Mary Redcliffe and Temple school. We are inviting you to read this draft policy as part of our wider consultation and respond to safeguarding@smrt.bristol.sch.uk with any comments you would like to make. The consultation will close at the end of the day on the 6 July. We will not be able to respond to individual comments that are made, but all submissions will be shared with the governing body.
RSHE is taught primarily through our VIP (Values in Practice) lessons and through our pastoral curriculum, which includes assemblies and visiting speakers.
There are elements of RSHE that are statutory and are required by law to be taught across all schools in England.
The changes in the policy are mainly focused upon the content of the RSHE curriculum and incorporate a greater focus on online safety (particularly regarding AI) and supporting student mental health.
Many thanks,
Mr Pike
Assistant Headteacher (Safeguarding, Attendance and Belonging)
