We Value Justice and Respect 2

Weekly Worship from Mrs Duzniak

Here is a short film about a refugee from Syria. As you watch the film, think about what you would have done if you were in the same situation:

The theme for Refugee Week this year is ‘Courage’. It takes a lot of courage to leave one country and go to another just to feel safe.  It also takes courage to learn about other cultures and be welcoming.

As a class, discuss what we can do to show that we are welcoming to people who have come to Bristol from other countries?  How can we be more welcoming as a school?

We read in the Bible that in heaven there will be people from every culture and country!  All welcome together to worship God.

After this I looked, and there was an enormous crowd - no one could count all the people! They were from every race, tribe, nation, and language, and they stood in front of the throne…Revelation 7:9

God wants us to be like this here on Earth and in Bristol. Everyone together and equal. This can take courage and confidence.

Prayer:

Dear God, we thank you that we are all different. Thank you for the many cultures and countries represented in our school and in Bristol.  We think of those who have come to the UK recently, perhaps from very difficult places. Help us to be welcoming and kind.  Help us to go out of our way to show that we care. We pray for new families in the UK that they will find safety and security here. Amen
