We Can Communicate 2

Weekly Worship from Mrs Duzniak.
We are going to look at some Proverbs from the Bible today.
As you read each one have a class discussion about what the words mean and how you might rephrase them.
- ‘Anyone who answers without listening is foolish and confused.’ Proverbs 18:13
- ‘Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, making people happy and healthy.’ Proverbs 16:24
- ‘The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.’ Proverbs 12:18
We all say things that we wish we hadn’t! Our words can help or hurt others so quickly!
Here is a poem about our words. As you watch it think about your words and how you communicate. Reflect on the power of your words.
- Think back to a time when someone used words that hurt you – why were you upset?
- Think of a time when you said something and hurt someone else – how could you have behaved differently?
- How can you use your words today to help others and make them feel good about themselves?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for our school community. Thank you that you have given us free will so that we can use our words to help others. We recognise that there are times when we get this wrong and our words can be hurtful. Help us to say sorry and forgive each other when we have used the wrong words. Thank you that you speak to us and your words will always encourage us. Amen
