We Value Justice and Respect 2

Weekly Worship from Mrs Duzniak.

October is Black History Month.  This year the theme is, ‘Standing Firm in Power and Pride’.  It celebrates protest, heritage, creativity and leadership.  As you watch this short film, how many people do you recognise?

One of the images in the film was of Ulric Cross. Here is another film with some more information about him.

What an amazing man.  He made a real difference and is now finally being recognised for his efforts.

Are you inspired to stand up for others?  Could you be a role model for others?  What are some of the skills and values that you need to be an inspiration and role model?

Jesus said these words,

‘In the same way your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.Matthew 5:16

All of our actions are watched by others.  We are all role models!  How can you make sure that your light shines so that you are an inspiration to others.

Prayer

Dear Lord, we thank you for all the historical figures described in Black History Month this year.  Thank you for their contribution to making our world a safer and better place.  Help us to recognise and respect all that they did.  Guide us in ways that we can be better role models to each other and help us to work together to make our community a fairer place for all.  Amen
