Weekly Worship from Mrs Duzniak.

Our bodies are amazing; we have so many different organs and cells that all have special jobs to do. This makes sure that our bodies work well.

Here are some interesting facts about the human body. You may have more fun facts to share with your class!

As a class we are going to play, ‘Would you rather’.

1. Would you rather have only hands or only feet?

2. Would you rather have a really strong sense of smell or taste?

3. Would you rather have hair covering every inch of your body or have no hair anywhere?

Here is a reading from the Bible about our bodies and how being different and individual is brilliant!

‘Our bodies have many parts, but these parts don’t all do the same thing. In the same way, even though we are individuals, Christ makes us one body - individuals who are connected to each other. God in his kindness gave each of us different gifts. If your gift is serving, then devote yourself to serving. If it is teaching, devote yourself to teaching. If it is encouraging others, devote yourself to giving encouragement. If it is sharing, be generous. If it is leadership, lead enthusiastically. If it is helping people in need, help them cheerfully.’ Romans 12: 4-8

We value diversity and choice means that we value everyone’s individuality. It is great that everyone is different with different gifts and talents. As a community, every single person has a gift and a role to play. By using your skills and recognising skills in others, you are valuing diversity and choice.

Questions to think about?

1. What is my ‘gift’ – what am I good at?

2. How can I use my gift to help/bless others?

3. How can I encourage my friends to use their gifts?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you so much for all the different people in our school. Thank you that we are all individuals with our own gifts, talents and personalities. Help us to use our strengths to bless and support each other. Amen
