We can see in the Bible that God would communicate with people in various ways. Through signs, wonders, dreams, angels, prophets, priests, parables, laws and commandments. But how were people meant to communicate with God? What do you think?

In a simple answer, it’s prayer. Prayer is simply what we have named talking to God.

Have a group discussion with these questions:

  1.  Have you ever prayed? Do you pray often?
  2.  Have you ever seen God answer a prayer? Or know someone who has seen an answered prayer?
  3. If you could talk to God this morning, what would you say to him?

I encourage each of you to pray, to talk to God with your own words and with whatever is on your heart.

Let’s pray now together. We’ll use the famous prayer that Jesus taught us.

Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever.

Amen.
