Mrs Clapson, Mrs Molnar and a team of enthusiastic, green fingered students have worked very hard this year transforming the area at the Clarence Road end of the school into a fantastic school garden. Here are some images of the garden in the lead up to the competition's judging day.

The judges’ feedback was that it was:

A wonderful project that provides vocational accreditations for the children taking part. This project has transformed a derelict space into a quiet haven. Extremely well cared for and productive, this also displays innovative ideas for recycling. We hope that this initiative will continue in future years to benefit the school.

Great news from the district semi- final of the Young Chef Competition on 21 January. James (year 9) and Miss Millar headed over to St Katherine’s School in Pill where he gained first prize for his cooking!!

James completed a three course meal over 2 hours consisting of a duck breast salad, porcini risotto and a lemon tart for dessert. The judges made comments that he was calm, organised and the flavours from his dishes were brilliant.

James will now be competing in the district final of the competition on the 1st of February and moving into the regional final if he is successful.
