Year 7 Bear Design Competition

Many families may already know that The Wild Place Project wildlife park in South Gloucestershire have recently opened a Bear Wood exhibit. As part of the build-up to their opening ceremony St Mary Redcliffe and Temple School took part in some activities and were lucky enough to receive a visit from Peter Cooper the My Bear Wood Ranger.

As part of a recent competition local schools were asked to design their own Mini Bears. Winning entries from primary schools were submitted to the Wild Place Project and many were made into full size bear sculptures that are now on display in Bear Wood.

Wild Place generously gave us some free tickets to give out as a prize for our own bear design competition which we ran with Year 7. All of the bears that appear below are prize-winners with the ‘Scribble Bear’ receiving the grand prize. Click on the thumbnails below to view all the great designs!
