Brazil Day 2015

Thursday 29th January saw the whole school brace themselves for the almighty Brazil Day, an extra-curricular event designed to give Year 8 students a truly Latin American experience and to appreciate the links between our country and one of contrasting social and economic status in the world.

The day was a huge success with an array of colourful and exciting activities which included a Rainforest experience, Face painting, Capoeira dance, Samba drumming, a Murder mystery, cooking a basic Brazilian meal, a Chocolate game and Brazilian food on the Aspens lunch menu.  This was further enhanced with an opportunity for everyone to purchase goodies from the visiting Fair Trade stall.

An enormous thank you to Year 8 students who behaved impeccably throughout the day and to our visiting speakers, workshops and staff who worked so hard to make the day such a wonderful event.  Sadly, due to curriculum changes, this was our last Brazil Day.  But fear not future Year 8 students as the next stop is Africa!
