In Year 7 students join Müller House. Mr J Pike is the Head of Müller House and Miss R Amos is his Deputy Head of House. They lead a team of eight tutors. Your child will be placed in a mixed ability tutor group which meets twice daily for registration and your child will be taught in this group for most of his/her subjects.
At the start of Year 7 there will be an information evening for parents/carers when any of your questions can be answered. Once students have settled there will be further parents/carers evening when you can talk over, with your child's subject teachers, ways in which we can continue to improve the learning of your child. A full report will be issued to your child during Year 7 as well as an academic progress report.

At the end of Year 7 students transfer to one of the four Main School Houses (see below) managed by a Head of House and a Deputy leading a team of tutors. These Houses are vertically grouped to include a number of students from Years 8 to 11. This system enables us to keep family members together, and younger children to become aware of things which they will encounter later on eg: option choices, careers guidance and examination preparation. Older students can take responsibility for younger members of their tutor group. Your child will usually remain in the same tutor group throughout Years 8 to 11.

All tutors have responsibility for knowing each child and their family well. They are the best person to contact concerning your son/daughter whether academic, personal or social. If you are unable to contact the tutor, the next contact would be Head of House or Deputy Head of House.
Students all have their own lockers for which they must pay a £3.50 deposit. Again, we recommend you use SCOPAY.
