We Value Diversity and Choice - Y9 Options to Choose GCSE subjects
Over the course of their ViP lessons in January, Year 9 students will be finding out more about the options process for their GCSEs. They will also be having careers input in all of their lessons to help them make their choices.

Please watch the video below which will explain the process and give you more information about some of the new subjects which are available:

Please also take the time to read through our Options Booklet:

Heads of House and Learning Support have limited numbers of paper copies of the booklet available for students who would like one.

During Term 3, Year 9 students should gather as much information as possible about the different options available and discuss their thoughts with parents and carers, tutors and subject teachers. Some students will also be given an interview by Mr Taylor - our Deputy Head; Mrs Whittaker - our SENDCo; learning mentors or other members of staff, to help them to make sensible decisions.

The Year 9 Parents and Carers Evenings on the 15 and 17 of February 2022, provide the perfect opportunity to finalise choices. On the 18 February all Year 9 students will be sent an email to their school email address with a link to the online options form (a copy of this email will also be sent to parents and carers at the same time). Students then have a couple of weeks before the deadline of March 8 2022 to submit their choices via the form. There is no advantage to getting choices submitted early so do take the time to really think through the options available before submitting (although you do need to submit by March 8 2022).

Our options at GCSE are based on our school value of diversity and choice with faith at the centre. We offer much more choice than many Bristol schools but can't guarantee everyone's first choice although we will do our best!

If students or parents and carers have any questions about the options process, they should contact their tutor in the first instance or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
