Weekly Words of Wisdom

Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties.Erich Fromm

Church schools should be 'both distinctively Christian and inclusive communities, providing nurture in their faith for children from Christian families and serving the whole local community in which they are situated.'  ('The Way ahead', 2001).

A Christian school is one in which the atmosphere has that kind of openness about it, that sense that people are worth spending time with, that people need time to grow, need loving attention. Archbishop Rowan Williams, 2009

This is the sort of school that we are striving to be. The SIAMS report in 2017 recognised it and we see it in our daily task of putting our values into practice individually and corporately.

We have both formal and informal worship.

Each week we have a Weekly Worship.

We are delighted that we can share services and a deeper relationship with the historic and inspiring St Mary Redcliffe Church.

We have one school chaplain, a number of assistant chaplains (volunteers from churches) and thriving Christian Unions.

As a school we see our charity work as part of the working out of our faith. Our partnership with Ikoba School is made all the richer due to our shared faith.

We are proud to have been part of the Diocese of Bristol throughout the school’s history.  For those of you unfamiliar with what a Diocese is, here is a helpful introduction.

The school believes that Educational Inclusion is about equal opportunities for all learners. Please refer here to our Measurable Equality Objectives.

Please see our Worship leaflet for further details.
