Dear Parent/Carer

Year 11 Assessments

The GCSE "Time to Shine" assessments are going really well. Teachers have been impressed with how well-prepared students have been for the assessments. Remember that if students are self-isolating they can still sit the assessments at home via Teams if they are well enough to do so: email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you need to do this. It is really important that students stay focused throughout the remaining assessments as these will provide the evidence that we use to determine the overall grade in each subject. Teachers have spent time moderating the assessments that have already been completed, and while they are unable to share any marks or grades, I know they have been encouraged by what they have seen so far. Keep up the good work!

Prom/Leavers’ Hoodies

Due to Covid-19, there will, sadly, not be a Year 11 Prom this year. Students can now order their Leavers’ Hoodies. This can now be done directly via the suppliers website by following this link https://shop.dactylpublishing.com/hoodies . Please contact Mrs Williams on 0117 377 2100 ext 216 for the code.

Locker Keys
As students are not currently accessing lockers, students should empty their lockers at the earliest opportunity and return their key to Jean Miller in Student Reception. They will receive further information on this from their tutors. Following the success of the approach last year, we are proposing that locker deposits are donated to our partner school in Ikoba, for whom the Covid- 19 pandemic has had a huge impact. If you would like your deposit returned to you, please contact Mrs Miller in student reception.

Text Books

Text books and other resources will be returned directly to subject teachers as assessments are completed.

Year 11 Photos

Year 11 Photos will be taken on Tuesday 18 May 2021. Unfortunately, we will not be doing a whole year group photo this year but students will have their individual ‘portrait photos’ taken.

Yours faithfully

Mr Simon Shaw
Deputy Headteacher (Behaviour for Learning)
