General School Meals Information
Aspens were awarded our school meals contract in September 2012. Aspens provide healthy school lunches and will also operate a breakfast and break-time service. A cashless system is used in the Main School to pay for food, and students can 'top-up' their catering account at the 2 revaluation units on A Floor (by Student Reception) and B Floor (by Visitor Reception) either with cash, or cheques made payable to Aspens Services Ltd.  Please ensure that your child's name and House/Tutor group (e.g. JAHCl) is written on the back of your cheque.

Our cashless catering system uses biometric data about your son/daughter. Biometric data is information about a person’s physical or behavioural characteristics that can be used to identify them – in our case this information comes from their fingerprint. For an explanatory letter to this system please click here.

We are required by law to notify each parent/carer that we process biometric data about their child(ren), and to obtain the written consent of at least one parent/carer in order to continue using their child(ren)’s biometric data for catering purposes. If you are happy to consent to the processing of your child(ren)’s biometric data, please sign, date and return this consent form to Mrs Sue Josham via the school office, or by e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. Online Payments for School Meals

You can also top up your school meal account online. Please log-in to your Tucasi (SCOPAY) online account and select 'School Meals (Aspens Catering)' to purchase. Please be aware all top-up payments made for School meals go directly to Aspens Catering. Please note that your bank statement will display 'www.aspens-services.co.uk'. See the Tucasi (SCOPAY) Online Payments section below for more details on how to make payments online and a user guide.

You may have noticed that you can no longer see information on the food purchased by your children when topping up their school meal accounts.  Unfortunately this was having a negative effect on our system by using up too much memory. This information is still available but only on request by This email address is being protected from spambots. Tucasi (SCOPAY) Online Payments
The Tucasi (SCOPAY) website enables you to make payments to St Mary Redcliffe & Temple School using your debit or credit card. This system has been live since July 2012.  The registration process is simple but you will need your child’s/ren’s link code.  This is sent to parents/carers via student post in July.  If you need a duplicate please contact the Finance Office (via the main school phone number 0117 377 2100 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) who will email you a copy. There is a User Guide available to help you with all aspects of the new payments system here

Transferring catering accounts balances to siblings
Year 11 students leaving the school may have some credit balance remaining on their cashless catering account. We encourage them to spend up their outstanding balances before they leave, or as an alternative transfer their balance to another student in the school. Aspens have designed a form for parents/carers to use to authorise us to transfer money from your son’s or daughter’s account. This form can be downloaded here.

School Menus
Information on menus is provided by Aspens here.

Educational Visits Information Table Year 7 to Year 11
Educational visits allow students to fulfil their potential in many areas of experience that are not met in the classroom. They help bring the curriculum to life and provide extended opportunities for team working, increasing motivation and confidence and an enriched learning environment. Click here for an overview on trips and activities run throughout the academic year.

Parent/Carer Consent Form for Educational Visits

All parents/carers must have signed a copy of the Education Visits consent form before students will be allowed to attend any school trip.

Friends of SMRT (PTA)
All those with parental responsibility of current students at the school are members of the 'Friends of SMRT'. The Friends of SMRT Committee meets monthly and is elected at the Annual General Meeting in October.  Parents/carers are able to stand for election to this body. The 'Friends of SMRT' contributes to school life in many ways, including being a major consultative group and for the raising of funds for school use through the 'School Support Fund'. We urge you to subscribe from the start of your connection with school, and to support the various social and fund raising events held throughout the year. The monies raised are split between supporting the school's building programme (the Governors have to pay 10% of all building costs in a church school) and supporting the Enabling Fund. This Fund assists with both individual and more general educational needs which arise from time to time. If you would like to know more please contact the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

School Support Fund
We encourage as many parents/carers as possible to donate to this fund, as this is the 'Friends' main way of supporting the school financially.  Please download and complete the Donation Form, and send it to: School Support Fund, St Mary Redcliffe and Temple School, Somerset Square, Bristol, BS1 6RT.  If you are a taxpayer please tick the 'Gift Aid' box on the form so that we can also claim an extra 25% tax back from the government making every £1.00 you donate worth £1.25.

Enabling Fund
Disadvantage should not be a barrier to opportunity and to date the Enabling Fund has supported many thousands of students.  Priority is always given to students in financial hardship.  Find out more here.

Prayer Group

We have a Prayer Support Group that is made up of parents/carers and staff who want to support the school and each other in prayer.  It meets monthly, alternating between evenings at school and mornings at one of the members' homes.  There is an email group so that people can keep in touch and react to emergency prayer requests.  If you would like to know more, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Coping with Exam Stress
Exams can be stressful times of the year for everyone involved. We have guides for coping with stress for students and parents/carers on our Exams page.

Privacy Notice
Personal data held about pupils must only be used for specific purposes allowed by law. The Privacy Notice informs parents/carers about the types of data held, why that data is held, and to whom it may be passed on.
